ZESCO United coach Zlatko Krmpotic says the win over Konkola Blades has put the Ndola side back in the Super Division title race.
Zesco beat Blades 1-0 courtesy of forward Jesse Were’s penalty in a Super Division Week 20 match at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola on Sunday.
Referee Francis Lombe awarded a penalty after defender Andrew Tembo handled.
Zesco, who have four matches in hand, are fourth on the log with 32 points, five behind leaders Napsa Stars.
“I am satisfied with three points, we played in difficult conditions, every game we have to go and win. All opponents are big teams and we have to take them that way. We did not have a good game, this is not the first time. We have to make our performance better every day. We must work on the problem of missing chances,” Krmpotic said.
Napsa Stars coach Tenant Chilumba said they are still in the title chase despite a goalless draw with Nchanga Rangers.
“The draw was a bonus, we have gotten a point away from home. It is not a bad result considering we were one man down. We are still in contention, we will keep on pushing the boys,” said Chilumba referring to the red card shown to striker Youremember Banda.
Rangers coach Evans Sakala rued his strikers’ bluntness at goal.
