ZCTU to start breastfeeding centre

LINDA NYONDO, Lusaka
THE ZAMBIA National Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) intends to set up a breastfeeding centre at a cost of K25,000.
ZCTU Gender and Youth co-ordinator Naomi Kimbala said in an interview recently that the centre aims to promote increased productivity among breastfeeding and pregnant women.
She said breastfeeding mothers will be able to ask nannies to take the babies to the office to be breastfed, which will allow the breastfeeding mother to continue with work.
“There is a suitable place that has been identified to enhance maternity protection,” she said.
