Zanaco opt for Nkoloma Stadium

DIANA MUTAKAFIMBO, Lusaka
ZANACO have opted for Nkoloma Stadium as one of the requirements for club licensing ahead of the 2016 Confederation Cup.
Club chairman Edward Mutale said in Lusaka yesterday that Zanaco are set to meet the club licensing requirements ahead of the final inspection by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) today.
Zanaco’s homeground is Sunset Stadium.
Mutale said the club management has worked round the clock to ensure club licensing requirements are met.
He, however, said there are some outstanding issues that are remaining to be resolved.
“We have had successful meetings with FAZ and we have been working hard to ensure we meet the club licensing requirements. As a club, we are ready although we may have a few minor issues yet to be resolved like documentation.
“We have decided to be using Nkoloma stadium but we have to put in writing and also write to the Zambia Air Force. These are a few minor issues remaining otherwise we are set,” Mutale said.
He said the club has tackled major club licensing requirements like separating the club from sponsors, financial guarantee and setting up of the club secretariat.
“These are some of the key issues we have tackled and we are only remaining with a few minor things,” Mutale said.
And FAZ head of club licensing Erick Mwanza said the association has held fruitful meetings with Zanaco.
Mwanza said it is premature to judge Zanaco before the final inspections and that the club is working tirelessly to comply with club licensing requirements.
Zanaco, tutored by Mumamba Numba are making a return to continental football after exiting the Africa Champions League in the first round in 2013.
