Zanaco capture Moyo, 6 other players

ZANACO has signed Zimbabwean defender Zamisileni Moyo and six other players to bolster their squad ahead of the 2017 CAF Champions League.
The Bankers will start the ball rolling with a home tie in the preliminary round against Rwanda Patriotic Army (APR) on February 11.
Moyo is not new to the Zambian soccer scene as he featured for Zesco United for four years and won two Super Division titles in 2010 and 2014.
Zanaco have also signed Democratic Republic of Congo defenders Didi Kitimba and Ikamba Ngobila.
They have also captured the services of striker Lokua Souleyman to strengthen the side for the continental show-piece.
The Mumamba Numba-tutored side has signed Mufulira Wanderers skipper Taonga Bwembya, Nchanga Rangers left-back Chongo Chirwa and striker Kennedy Musonda of Lusaka Dynamos bringing the number of players that have joined the CAF Champions League envoys to seven.
Zanaco insiders told the Sports Mail in Lusaka yesterday that the team is leaving no stone unturned for the continental challenge.
The source said Zanaco are eager to impress in Africa’s premier club competition.
He said Zanaco want to beat Zesco’s record in the CAF Champions League.
Zesco reached the semi-finals of the prestigious championship.
Zanaco last competed in the CAF Champions League in 2013 and were eliminated in the first round losing 3-1 on aggregate to South African side Orlando Pirates.
“The club is still signing more players before the transfer window closes. As you know, Zanaco are representing the country in the CAF Champions League, so the executive is doing everything possible to assemble a formidable squad,” he said.
Zanaco are expected to resume pre-season training this week.
