Letter to the Editor

Zambia’s loss is a bitter pill to swallow

Dear editor,
The mood in the country is so toxic following the Chipolopolo’s 1-0 loss to Mozambique on Sunday.
Most fans are targeting their anger at the coach and the Football Association of Zambia, yet others are mad with the players.
It is clear that coach Sven is the most unpopular man around, so is Andrew Kamanga, the FAZ boss because his executive authorised the hiring of Sven.
There are also accusing fingers directed at Kennedy Mweene who people think has done his full cycle and should retire.
Yet, others feel that the loss was a blessing in disguise, arguing that it was better to be eliminated during the qualifiers than qualify to the Africa Cup and be booted out in the group stages
FAZ or Sven should issue a statement which will calm people’s nerves.
