Zambians urged to vote in tripartite elections

Dear editor
IT is good to hear that President Edgar Lungu will assent to the new constitution next week. From the time the process went through parliament, every Zambian has been waiting for the time the President will sign the new Constitution.
This is a new year gift to Zambians. A progressive Constitution is a  propeller of development in many sectors of the economy. The new supreme law of the land contains clauses like the 50-percent-plus-one and the vice president as a running mate.
As we go to the election this year, these clauses will come into force in the history of Zambia.
I want to urge as many Zambians as possible to exercise their right to vote. They should realise that this will be making history by participating in the elections under the new constitution, which has new clauses.
