Zambia, Saudi Arabia to seal goat, sheep deal

GOVERNMENT will soon seal a deal with Saudi Arabia that will see Zambia exporting goats and sheep to that country.
Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Kampamba Mulenga said a team from Saudi Arabia is expected in the country in the next two weeks to look at the remaining technicalities before finalising the agreement.
In an interview on Friday, Ms Mulenga said among the main issues to be discussed are the modalities on the packaging and slaughtering of goats.
She said Government plans to set up abattoirs in some parts of the country to promote stakeholder participation and to enable all value chain players to achieve a fair market share.
