Zambia needs IMF bailout

A LOCAL research and policy think tank says Zambia needs to pursue and secure the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout to effectively manage the local economy and bring fiscal fitness.
The Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR) said an IMF programme will entail using one of the facilities offered by the fund to replace as much as US$1.3 billion of Zambia’s debt with cheap, nearly interest-free concessional financing.
