Zambia lose to Islanders

CECILIA ZULU, Lusaka
ZAMBIA’S chances of qualifying for the Confederation of African Rugby Africa Cup Group 1A were yesterday left hanging after losing 24-15 to Madagascar at Mahamasina Stadium in Antananarivo.
Zambia placed a try through Brian Chansa and Terry Kaushiku failed to convert in a Group B match.
David Kombe got Zambia’s second try and Kaushiku was on hand to convert.
Kaushiku also scored a penalty while Simon Kapindu and the former fumbled with penalties. Zambia needs to beat Senegal on Wednesday to remain in the tournament.
Zambia Rugby Union general secretary Francis Chitambo is confident that the team still has a chance to qualify to Group 1A.
