ZAMBIA yesterday earned the first point in pursuit of their 2018 World Cup qualification dream courtesy of a goal from the left boot of South Africa-based striker Collins Mbesuma in a match Senegalese referee Diedhiou Malang awarded the hosts a controversial penalty.
The point against the Indomitable Lions lifted the Chipolopolo one rung up from the bottom in Group B where Nigeria took a commanding lead on six points after demolishing favourites Algeria 3-1.
It was a drab encounter which the Chipolopolo controlled in the first half but it degenerated into a physical contest, forcing strikers Evans Kangwa and Mbesuma to be removed for Rodger Kola and Simon Silwimba who struggled to fit the bill.READ MORE
