Zambia gradually winning fight against HIV

THOUSANDS of Zambians across the country yesterday commemorated World AIDS Day with a sense of encouragement following a disclosure that the country has recorded a reduction in the HIV prevalence rate at 11.6 percent in individuals between the ages of 15 to 49 and 1.3 percent in children aged 14 and below.
And Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya has said Zambia contributes U$5 million to the global fund towards the fight against HIV and AIDS.
Dr Chilufya said this in Lusaka yesterday during the commemoration of World AIDS Day under the theme: ‘Hands up for HIV prevention’.READ MORE
