Zambia Coca-Cola company encounters supply challenge

THE country is currently faced with the shortage of soft drinks such as Coca-Cola and Fanta which Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has attributed to supply chain challenges.
CCBA, which is a new entrant in the Zambia soft drinks market, is engaging retail customers in the country to enhance service and supply going forward.
It commenced operations on December 17 this year after Zambian Breweries Plc transferred its soft drinks business to the company.
Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia commercial director Herbert Nuwamanya said, “Since acquiring the non-alcoholic ready-to-drink business, Kalundu Beverages Limited, trading as Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia (CCBZ), has encountered a number of supply challenges that needed our immediate attention.
“We can assure our customers that the local team in Zambia will be working throughout the holidays to catch up with backlog orders – this includes our logistics and manufacturing employees who worked on Christmas Day, December 25, to ramp up supply to retail outlets,” Mr Nuwamanya said.
He is confident that the situation will improve because CCBA is part of a consolidated, successful Coca-Cola system in Africa which creates shared opportunities across the value-chain, including the local suppliers and retailers
