Yvonne Mwale goes global

YVONNE Mwale will today grace the Zambian Women in Music Festival.

ZAMBIAN Afro jazz song bird Yvonne Mwale has featured on a global music project titled One Human, which has been recognised globally as the most featured song ever composed. The global music project is composed and produced by Los Angeles-based artiste and composer Graham Czach in honour of the United Nations Nelson Mandela International Day weekend. The Germany-based multi-award winning singer and songwriter was officially selected to represent Zambia among 123 artistes from 110 countries globally. The recording features performances from Kris Myers (Umphrey’s McGee), Juno award winner Alpha Yaya Diallo and Grammy award winners Dobet Gnahoré and Al Walser. Other features include Greek superstar George Perris, New York City opera soprano Tharanga Goonetilleke among others. According to Czach, “This song and video tell[s] the story of all of us, and creates something special and unique in showing how we are so much stronger and better as a whole.” “By coming together as one, through compassion and the universal language of music, we can unite in a higher consciousness, as one people, to help solve our many crises in the world,” he adds The proceeds from the release of the song and associated fundraiser will benefit UNICEF and help spread a universal message of peace and solidarity, according to a statement issued by Yvonne’s management team.
