Xplosion Band rocks Wayaya

PHYLIS The Entertainer joins the band on stage at Wayaya.

FRIDAY last week proved once more that Wayaya is an entertainment hotspot, in terms of music, and a meeting place for friends; as clearly demonstrated by the joint’s motto ‘Your friendly partner’. This was epitomised when the Xplosion Band performed King Monada’s latest song with a collapse dance ‘Malwedhe’. The entire atmosphere was in the ‘collapse’ mode.
In its usual style, the party lovers refused to go when midnight, the official closing time, came by. The place was filled with live music provided by the resident band, Xplosion. This time, a surprise artist was James Chamanyazi, who sang ‘Dear Lelo’, among other songs.
Wayaya management, who have committed to supporting local music and live bands, for that matter, have planned for Wednesdays dubbed ‘Ladies Night’ to feature various bands and artists as surprise packages.
“Saturdays and Sundays will be reserved for DJs. Friday continues to be the Night hotspot for friends. Recently, Wayaya has hosted a number of musicians and bands, including Uncle Rex and No Parking Band, among others.
“Wayaya management is committed to meet the entertainment needs,” said the proprietor, Mable Chanda. “We’re hosting birthday celebrations, bridal showers, yard sales, etc, and we will continue being versatile in our industry.”
She further promised that this year’s Christmas and New Year’s eves are under design, especially to meet the season’s needs.
