Woman builds case against bricklayer

MIKE MUGALA, Lusaka
MATERO Local Court has heard how a bricklayer of Kabanana Township lied to his wife that he was going to put tiles for a client when he allegedly spent nights at another woman’s house within the neighbourhood.
Levetina Banda, 37, told the court that problems in her marriage started four years ago when Patson Banda, 46, allegedly infected her with HIV.
She told the court that Patson only told her that he was HIV-positive in November last year.
Levetina sued Patson for divorce. The two got married in 1997 and have four children.
“All was well in our marriage. We lived peacefully. Things changed four years ago when he started spending nights away from home. Last year in November he informed me that he is positive,” she said.
