MATHEWS KABAMBA, Kitwe
MUFULIRA Wanderers have appointed coach Wilson Mwale to replace Ahmed Suliman, who was dismissed last week following a spat with the executive.
Club insiders yesterday told the Sports Mail in Kitwe that negotiations with Mwale have
been successful and a contract would be signed this week.
“There is unanimous decision to engage Wilson because everyone feels he is the one who can revive the fortunes of the club and put our season back on track. Looking at what happened in the game against Zanaco, the club wants him [Mwale] to join the technical bench before the game against Lumwana Radiants on Saturday,” the source said.
Last Monday, Suliman said the team was performing below par because the executive allowed key players to be sold to other clubs during the off season.
Wanderers lost 6-0 to Zanaco on Sunday to concede 13 goals in three matches.
The other defeats were 3-0 to Green Buffaloes and 4-1 to City of Lusaka.
Mwale has had stints with Lusaka Celtic, National Assembly, Nakambala Leopards and Napsa Stars among others.
