Letter to the Editor

Violence is not answer to political differences

Dear editor,
IT IS only a good economic and development manifesto that can take a presidential aspirant to State House and not violence or Mapatizya formula.
The expose that some opposition political parties plan on using dialogue and violence as a means of winning the 2021 elections is not only unfortunate but an indication of how desperate some people are to get to power and Plot One in particular.
I wish to applaud the four well-meaning opposition political party leaders – Edith Nawakwi, Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD), Sakwiba Sikota (United Liberal Party (ULP), Wynter Kabimba ( Rainbow Party) and Felix Mutati (MMD faction) for informing the general citizenry why a good thing like the national dialogue has been failing to take off.
Our bishops are God-fearing and l wonder if they can bless such a scheme. It is sad that instead of strategising on how to make lives of the Zambian people better, some people are planning on how to use violence to get into power. This is also a wake-up call to Christians to double up prayers against violence.
