US assurance cheers Lungu

PRESIDENT Lungu is happy with the assurance that the outcome of the November 8 election in the United States (US) will not adversely affect relations between Zambia and that country.
President Lungu, who held bilateral talks with US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Linda Thomas-Greenfield here on Wednesday, said Zambia was uncertain about its relations with the US following the election of Republican nominee Donald Trump as President.
“Most of us in Africa who are not conversant with the American electoral system were worried following the election outcome, and it is important for us to know where we stand in our bilateral relations. I am glad to know that it will be business as usual.READ MORE
