Swimming coach Stephenson opts to float

DESPITE the poor performance of his swimmers, national team swimming coach Ian Stephenson says Tilka Paljk and Shaquille Mooza should walk with their heads high because there are no losers at the Olympic Games. Stephenson admitted that there is an air of disappointment in the swimmers’ failure to attain their personal best times but encouraged them to keep working hard to improve in particular areas. “I’d be remiss if I didn’t start by thanking everyone for the support rendered to the latest contingent of Zambian Olympians Shaquille Mooza and Tilka Paljk,” he said. “ZASU (Zambia Swimming Union), NOCZ (National Olympic Committee of Zambia) and Government, you have done an amazing job in getting our athletes here. Your leadership and administration was brilliant.”
