FORMER Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) vice-president Emmanuel Munaile says Chipolopolo coach Sven Vandenbroeck’s contract should have been extended to 2021 in a bid to give him time to mould a formidable team.
On Saturday, FAZ executive committee members resolved to award the Belgian a one year extension despite the failure to qualify the national team for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
When he was engaged in July last year, the former Cameroon assistant coach was given a performance-based contract to take the Chipolopolo to the continental showpiece finals.
Munaile, who is also a former Chipolopolo vice-captain, said in an interview yesterday that Vandebroeck needs time to come up with a formidable squad
