PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu is concerned about tribal divisions between the Ngonis and Chewas in Eastern Province and has urged traditional leaders in the region to promote unity among their subjects.
The head of State said there is need for the Ngonis and Chewas to co-exist for the sake of the future generations.
He said tribal divisions can retard development in the region if left unchecked.
President Lungu said this when he paid a courtesy call on Senior Chief Madzimawe of the Ngoni people at his palace yesterday.
