Stop land corruption – Musenge

MUSENGE (centre).

NKOMBO KACHEMBA, Kitwe
COPPERBELT Minister Mwenya Musenge has challenged Kitwe City Council (KCC) to fight corruption in land administration.
Mr Musenge, who is Chimwemwe Member of Parliament (MP) in Kitwe, said the municipality is infamous for illegal allocation of land and its image is dented.
“It is high time we started improving the image of Kitwe as councillors. We are tired of hearing negative sentiments about Kitwe, especially when it comes to issues of land,” he said.
Mr Musenge, speaking during an ordinary council meeting held at the KCC chambers, urged the municipality to come up with a computerised data base for land management to promote transparency.
He also urged the KCC to engage MPs when they are demarcating land in the constituencies.
