STEVEN MVULA, Parliament
CHIMWEMWE Member of Parliament (MP) Mwila Mutale (Independent) has urged Government to start printing ballot papers for local government by-elections at the Government Printing Department as a way of preparing for the 2021 general elections.
Contributing to debate on the 2019 national budget, Mr Mutale said the best time to start printing ballot papers locally is now.
Last month, Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe announced a K86.8 billion budget for 2019, representing 28.9 percent of the gross domestic product.
“The Vice-President [Inonge Wina] last week told us that there is an influx of ward councillors resigning from other political parties joining the PF because they have seen development being spearheaded by the ruling party.
