THE countrywide multi-stakeholder meetings to review the Public Order Act (POA) will be held this month to get views on areas of proposed reform.
Minister of Justice Given Lubinda told Parliament in a ministerial statement yesterday that the meetings will be held to sensitise stakeholders on the current provisions of the POA.
Mr Lubinda said the meetings will be conducted by officers from the ministries of Home Affairs and Justice with support from the Law Development Commission.
“The bill is expected to be subjected to multi-stakeholder consultations before consideration by Cabinet and subsequent presentation to this House,” he said.
