Stable environment attracts investors

MINING in Zambia history and future indicates that on a small scale, the mining activities by the natives were widespread across the Copperbelt region and other places

AUSTRALIAN High Commissioner to Zambia Bronte Moules has called for a stable business environment to ensure investors in the mining sector continue contributing to socioeconomic development.
She said there has to be a favourable environment for any productive investment to exist.
Ms Moules said during a tour of First Quantum Minerals’ (FQM) Sentinel Mine that foreign direct investment is a key contributor to development, hence the need to pursue policies that favour investments.
“Foreign investment of world-class standard and done responsibly can be a really important contributor to a country’s economic development. For any productive direct investment, the operating environment has to be right,” she said in a statement issued by Langmead and Baker Limited.
