THE Solwezi School of Midwifery is set to open this month, North-Western Province director of health Andrew Silumesi has said.
Dr Silumesi said the institution will open following the deployment of an obstetrician and gynaecologist at Solwezi General Hospital which is part of the requirements by the General Nursing Council for a midwifery school.
“On the 13th February, 2017, the first students of the midwifery school are reporting,” Dr Silumesi said.
He was speaking during a media interaction meeting in Solwezi recently.
Dr Silumesi said the first enrolment for the midwifery school was already in process.
