Social servants warned

CIVIL Service Commission chairperson Dickson Chasaya has warned public service workers using pseudonyms to disparage Government on social media to immediately stop because they will be traced and punished.

Mr Chasaya briefed journalists yesterday that it has come to the attention of the commission that some civil servants are discussing government business on social media.
“Maybe the civil service has not been properly supervised. Anyone below the permanent secretary is not supposed to interact with the press – including the new media or social media, as you call it. The regulations and rules are clear,” Mr Chasaya said.
