Shepolopolo ready for Brazil

ROBINSON KUNDA, Tokyo
AFTER their inspirational performance in a 4-all draw against China on Saturday, women national team coach Bruce Mwape believes his team can withstand the mighty Brazil in tomorrow’s last Group F match. The team arrived in Tokyo yesterday from Minaji ahead of their match against Brazil and were addressed by the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) officials at the Games Village. Mwape said the team performed well against China and could build on that tomorrow against the Brazilians. He said the team still has chances of progressing to the quarter-finals and will not be intimidated by the star-studded Brazil. “Anything is possible in football and we can’t just give up easily,” Mwape said. “We have to fight until the last minute. So we will approach the game with the seriousness it deserves because this is a very important match for us.”
He said the players are gaining confidence after each match as demonstrated on Saturday against China. Mwape believes some of the players were jittery in the first game against the Netherlands because it was the first time they were competing at a high-level event.
