Shawa parries graft allegations

GOVERNMENT has dismissed claims by Zambian Voice executive director Chilufya Tayali that the high mealie-meal prices and artificial shortage of the staple food in some parts of the country is as a result of alleged rampant corruption in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Reserve Agency (FRA).
Ministry of Agriculture permanent secretary Julius Shawa said Mr Tayali’s corruption allegations are bizarre and unsubstantiated.
Mr Shawa said this at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday in response to Mr Tayali’s allegations of corrupt against him, Minister of Agriculture Given Lubinda and FRA executive director Chola Kafwabulula.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm
