Sexualisation of women in music

CHAMBO

Analysis: CHAMBO NG’UNI
SEXUALISATION or objectification of women and female adolescents in the music industry is an issue that has been with us for a long time. Yes, for a long time.
Music (whatever genre) is part of our diverse society and forms an integral part of our lives.
But having almost nude female artists is something that we seem to have accepted and embraced.
Whether it is by conscious design or unconscious design, objectification of female artists is something that seems to have been institutionalised in the music industry.
It can be debated or argued that since creativity is an integral aspect of the entertainment industry, there is nothing wrong for the practitioners to think outside the box when it comes to their dressing on stage or in music videos.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
