IT IS true that the manner in which people were selected for radar training at Kenneth Kaunda and Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula international airports is surprising.
Some of the people picked have already been trained in Singapore.
They did their training more than two years ago and that is on government files.
We are surprised that one of the people on the list is retiring just after the commissioning of the radar.
Why wasn’t someone else, who has many years of service remaining, selected?
Others on the list are not active controllers and their licences expired.
All this information can be found at the Department of Civil Aviation.
Are the people who made these selections helping the government to achieve its objectives?
