Rhino horn suspects put on defence

CHALI MULENGA, Livingstone and CHOMBA MUSIKA, Lusaka
CHOMA principal resident magistrate Exnobert Zulu has placed two senior local court magistrates, two businessmen and an estate agent on defence in a case they are accused of possessing two rhino horns without authority.
The accused are Elvis Siakachoma, 44, and Active Tambo, 46, who are senior local court magistrates; David Mununga, 66, an estate agent; Mwala Mwendanei, 39, and Sydney Mulenga, 31, both businessmen.
They are charged with unlawful possession of government trophy.
On October 3 this year in Livingstone, the five were allegedly found with two pieces of rhino horns weighing 7.13 kilogrammes.
