‘Reviving cotton textile industry cardinal’

THE Cotton Development Trust (CDT) has said there is need to exploit and revive the cotton textile industry to promote value addition.
This could enable the country to export finished products that can significantly contribute to revenue collection.
CDT director Lwisya Silwimba observed that currently the country is losing revenue as it is only exported in raw form.
Mr Silwimba also called for the redevelopment and strengthening of the cotton extension services in all cotton growing areas if the sector is to increase productivity.
