FANS who trooped to Choma’s Independence Stadium last Saturday for the MTN-Super Division season-opening match between Green Eagles and Lumwana Radiants were treated to a surprise.
The Zambia National Service (ZNS) has quietly been refurbishing the stadium by building more terraces for fans to enjoy their outing.
Days of standing are over and fans can look forward to attending matches at what will soon be the threatre of dreams in Southern Province.
We hope Eagles management can take advantage of the refurbishment to factor in refreshment and food kiosks for soccer fans to feast and feed on as they enjoy the games of football.
The more fans turn up to cheer Eagles, the more it will grow the club’s brand. Management should also build ablution blocks in the open wings.
Thumbs up ZNS for the initiative to upgrade Independence Stadium.
The squad should pay back by playing very well this season.
Go Eagles go, the pride of Southern Province.
