Reduced load shedding ups miners’ hopes

NKOMBO KACHEMBA, Kitwe
THE National Union of Mines and Allied Workers (NUMAW) says President Lungu’s effect measures to reduce load shedding will greatly help improve productivity in the mining sector and safeguard the jobs.
NUMAW national treasurer Saul Simujika said the reduced hours of load shedding is a positive sign for the mining industry, whose production capacity has been adversely affected by power deficits.
“The reduced hours of load shedding that we are experiencing now are a positive sign for the mining sector. If mining houses can operate to their full capacity, even the jobs of our local people can be safeguarded,” he said.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm
