THE number of circumcised boys quarantined after suspected typhoid broke out at Natebe Mukanda initiation camp in Livingstone has risen from 38 to 55.
Livingstone district public health director Francis Hadunka, who was representing provincial director of health Namani Monze, said the 55 boys are confined at Namatama Clinic.
Dr Hadunka said the camp has 155 boys and 22 trainers, bringing the total number of people at the site to 177.
He said the 122 boys and trainers who are still at the camp are also not being allowed to get in contact with other people outside the centre as a health and safety precaution.
