Pupils drown in Kariba

TWO pupils of Namumu Primary School in Siavonga have drowned while swimming in Lake Kariba.
Siavonga district commissioner Lovemore Kanyama told the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) yesterday that the boys drowned on Sunday around 16:00 hours.
Mr Kanyama identified the deceased as John Saka, 11, a grade four pupil, and Austin Chimwasa, 12, a grade five pupil. Their bodies were retrieved yesterday around 06:00 hours by members of the community.
The boys of Matinangala village were cousins.
On October 24, this year, a student at the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountancy drowned while swimming in Lake Kariba near the Sandy beach in Siavonga. – ZANIS
