Prostitution in Livingstone still rife

NALELI women community initiative chairperson Namakau Siyanga says it is disheartening that the tourist capital has continued to see an influx of sex workers despite the district recording a reduction in HIV and AIDS.
She said the practice is having a negative effect on children who see sex workers parade the streets as early as 19:00 hours.
“We cannot even take walks with our children because all we see are naked women,” she said.
Ms Siyanga has since called on law enforcement agencies to ensure there is law and order.
She called on sex worker to find decent employment as opposed to selling their bodies as the practice is a danger to their lives.
