Proflght halves fares for voters

PROFLIGHT Zambia has slashed its fares ahead of today’s presidential election to enable voters casting their votes in towns they previously lived and registered for voting.
According to a statement issued on Friday, fares have been halved from January 17 to 21, 2015.
“Proflight Zambia has halved its fares to enable people to return to their home constituencies to vote in the presidential election,” the airline says.
The special offer applies to return fares on all of Proflight’s domestic destinations namely Lusaka, Livingstone, Mfuwe, Ndola, Solwezi, Kasama, Mansa and Chipata.
Commenting on the development, Proflight director of Government and industry affairs Philip Lemba said the airline is committed to supporting the election process by according voters the opportunity to travel at discounted rates.
“Proflight Zambia is playing its part in providing a service in national interest to ensure voters are able to cast their votes and maintain our country’s excellent reputation for democratic governance,” Captain Lemba said.
Zambians go to the poll to elect a new president following the death of President Sata in October, 2014.
