THE Presidential Empowerment Initiative Fund (PEIF) has disbursed K300,000 to over 400 traders in Lundazi district in Eastern Province.
PEIP national coordinator Clement Tembo said in a statement that the disbursement is part of the on-going countrywide exercise aimed at empowering vulnerable but viable marketeers and vendors.
Mr Tembo said President Lungu is committed to boosting businesses of the traders to improve their welfare.
“President Lungu has once again demonstrated and fulfilled his commitment towards uplifting the welfare of the perceived common and poor people in the country,” he said.
Mr Tembo said the head of State has also promised to help in building the market shelter , which was gutted in 2016.
