‘PF will break cycle of poverty’

CHAMA

STEVEN MVULA, Lusaka
PATRIOTIC Front secretary general Davies Chama says the ruling party is determined to break Zambia’s cycle of poverty through its ambitious economic development programmes.
Speaking in an interview from Kitwe yesterday, Mr Chama said the PF will not look back on its promises to make Zambia a better place for all.
“We are determined to improve the lives of our people. We will break the vicious cycle of poverty. That is our focus, not politicking as demonstrated by others wishing to rule this country,” Mr Chama said.
He said it is no wonder over 75 percent of members of Parliament (MPs) declined to pass clauses that would have bloated Government.
“The opposition is fighting for what is unattainable. This is why our MPs had to shelve the idea of provincial assemblies and increasing the number of MPs. That was going to be a very costly venture,” Mr Chama said.
He said people want services such as clean water, decent housing and healthcare, among others.
He said the PF will not be deterred in its mission to improve the lives of Zambians.
