Peace till Jesus Christ comes – Chama

MINISTER of  Defence Davies Chama says peace is cardinal to economic development of countries in Africa.
Mr Chama said there is need to ensure that African countries have peace.
He said this rcently during dinner for the joint permanent commission (JPC) for defence and security for Zambia and Mozambique in Livingstone.
“People want development and this can only be attained if there is peace in the countries on the continent,” he said.
Mr Chama said pockets of fights on the continent are sad.
“We hope that the people that see things differently in African countries where there is strife will know that leadership comes from God,” he said.
Mr Chama said it is Government’s prayer that people with divergent views can unite.
He said African leaders have pledged to silence guns on the continent by 2020.
Mr Chama said there is need for Africans to ensure that no gun is raised against its own people to attain the goal set by the continent’s leaders.
“Whenever we are fighting, it is our brothers and sisters that suffer,” he noted.
Mr Chama said there is need for the relationship between Zambia and Mozambique to grow.
“The brotherly relationship between Zambia and Mozambique must grow from strength to strength. The two countries must have a long relationship until Jesus Christ comes,” he said.
Mr Chama said the people of the two countries are one as they were all created by God.
