PAC curtails PS’s contradictory submission

THE Public Accounts Committee (PAC) yesterday curtailed a submission by Ministry of Works and Supply permanent secretary Joe Kapembwa because of contradictory information on payment for a contract.

Mr Kapembwa and his delegation were sent away by PAC chairperson Howard Kunda after failing to verify documents that had contradictory dates.

He was appearing before the committee to respond to queries cited in the 2016 Auditor General’s report.
The report states that on March 18, 2016, the Ministry of Works and Supply awarded a tender to Messers Tlorens Investments limited to supply, deliver and install 50 air conditioners at Lothian House in Kitwe at a contract sum of K341,551, with a delivery period of 14 days from March 18 to April 2, 2016.
