FOOTBALL administrator Rix Mweemba says there is need to have trained administrators for the sport to continue developing in the country.
Mweemba, who is also Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) treasurer, said for football to continue on a path of development, it is important to equip people with technical and administrative knowledge.
He was speaking at the close of a FIFA football administration and management course for Lusaka-based clubs at Lusaka Hotel on Saturday evening.
“Our resolve to continuously make Zambian football better is real and a serious one. We are aware that both the technical and administration staff need to have modern methodologies of football at their fingertips.
“Just this morning we saw over 30 Zambians completing their CAF C licencing course. And this evening you great people are also going back home with modern information on how to administer football at your clubs. It is this two- pronged approach which will maintain the high football standards that Zambia has attained so far,” Mweemba said.
Mweemba challenged Lusaka-based football administrators to quickly put what they have learnt into practice.
He also implored those that have acquired the modern knowledge to share the information with other people.
“This knowledge you have acquired should soon be put into practice. We need to see a lot of improvement in all aspects of your administration. I urge you to go out there and make a difference,” he said.
