Ndola clergy hails President Lungu

NEW Life Ministries bishop Nelly Chikwanda has extolled President Lungu for upholding Christian values, which are based on love and forgiveness, in his leadership.
She urged women to continue praying for President Lungu for God to give him more wisdom as he leads the country.
“Don’t keep insulting the leaders that God has given us, our President has shown forgiveness and even brought in people who were against him for the sake of development,” she said.
Copperbelt permanent secretary Elias Kamanga said Government is determined to ensure the status of women in the community is fully realised through various programmes in education, agriculture and empowerment.
Mr Kamanga said Government has granted an unprecedented opportunity to women to excel as evidenced by President Lungu’s appointment of a female Vice-President, Inonge Wina.
He challenged women to get fully involved in the development of the country.
And Bishop Chikwanda is concerned about the rise in gender-based violence (GBV), especially women killing their husbands or male friends.
Bishop Chikwanda appealed to women to get involved in prayer to ask God to intervene in the killings involving intimate partners across the country.
“Women are suddenly killing men, husbands. This level is too high. There is a part of a spiritual realm which looks very ordinary but it is not. Look at the men that have died and the responsibility that  they have left, look at the confusion, this is a set-up of the enemy, and our coming together to pray is very important for us to address this demon,” she said.
Bishop Chikwanda said this at the women’s interdenominational day of prayer in Ndola yesterday.
She said women were not killers but channels of joy.
