Msiska salutes Zanaco


ZANACO Bank has been commended for its commitment to partnering with Government in the development of the nation.
Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska said Government has worked with the bank embarking on a number of activities to improve the lives of Zambians in the education, health and financial sectors.
“Government is always ready to work with organisations that share our passion of improving the livelihood of Zambians. And Zanaco is one such partner,” he said.
Dr Misiska was speaking at a Zanaco Golden Jubilee national essay competition prize giving ceremony in Lusaka.
He also said the bank’s decision to get involved with the essay competition reaffirms its position to help communities in which it serves.
A University of Zambia student Douglas Nyeleti was the overall winner for the essay competition while Stella Katanga was the best female writer. Others awarded were Mulaye Kajoba and Kabwe Lombe for being the youngest and oldest writers, respectively.
Zanaco managing director Bruce Dick said the bank has continued to enjoy cordial relationship with government.
Mr Dick said the bank has more than 800,000 customers and is working on having more than 1 million customers by the end of 2015.
He also said the bank has helped more than 30,000 customers in urban and rural Zambia through its corporate social responsibility programme dubbed Financial Fitness.
“These include farmers, SMEs, school pupils, Zanaco members of staff and members of the general public,” Mr Dick said.
