Mpulungu Harbour to handle more cargo

MPULUNGU Harbour

FRANCIS LUNGU, Mpulungu
MPULUNGU Harbour Corporation Limited is optimistic that with the coming investment of US$100 million, the company will increase its annual cargo handling capacity threefold from the current 150,000 metric tonnes.
Company managing director Davies Kaluba said the harbour has been handling cement exports as the main commodity to the Great Lakes region (GLR) since 1977, but that with such investment, more goods will be shipped.
Government, through the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), recently announced US$100 million investment commitment into Mpulungu Harbour to modernise its infrastructure aimed at increasing export capacity http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
