Mpande goes for ultimate

SOUTHERN Province hit singer Emmanuel Mpande is today scheduled to hold a show which he has dubbed ‘The Ultimate Concert’ at the Fairview Hotel in Lusaka.
The Choma-based vocalist, adored for his danceable traditional tunes, will be accompanied by six other artistes from Southern Province.
The concert, which will start at 20:00 hours, is a first of its kind because all the artistes gracing the show are from Kumusanza (Southern Province), a region where locals cherish their cultural heritage.
Charges for the show have been pegged at K100.
Among the supporting musicians expected to perform are the “Omubili Wandilekelela” singer Mapiki, Real Jay, Tiger, Smack Jay, Sianene and Osman.
The audience will also be treated to some laughter moments as comedian GC the Teacher will be the master of ceremonies.
Mpande told the Weekend Mail in an interview that he is happy tickets for the concert are fast selling.
“The tickets [sales] have been moving fast. I have been receiving calls and some [fans] want me to drop tickets at their offices,” the award winning artiste said.
Tickets are still being sold at Sounds outlets at Arcades Shopping Mall and Levy Mall and Fairview Hotel itself.
Mpande urges Lusaka residents to turn up in numbers to enjoy some quality music.
The Nkaliwalile singer is fresh from scooping two awards at the Southern Province Choma Maanu Radio music awards.
He won Album of the Year for “Kobaleleka” and song of the year for “Mbichana Mbichana”.
