Minister, UK college confer

MWALE

DIANA MUTAKAFIMBO, Lusaka
MINISTER of Youth, Sport and Child Development Vincent Mwale has engaged the European School of Economics on awarding scholarships to Zambian athletes.
Mwale, who is in the United Kingdom (UK) for a series of meetings, said time is ripe for Zambian athletes to get incentives for their sacrifices.
The minister on Thursday held a meeting with the director of the European School of Economics in London.
“I had a great and successful meeting with the director of the European School of Economics on awarding of scholarships to Zambian sportsmen and women. It’s time our sportsmen and women got proper incentives for the sacrifices they make for the nation,” he said.
Mwale said more institutions have been engaged and is hopeful the programme will be successful.
He also held a meeting with the Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Deodat Maharaj, on issues of youth development.
Mwale later held a meeting with the directors of the Kick Worldwide, a sports organisation that is ready to help promote grassroots sport in Zambia.
