Miners pledge fulfilled

NKOMBO KACHEMBA, Kitwe
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has fulfilled the promise he made to retrenched miners three years ago of securing them land for farming purposes in Lufwanyama on the Copperbelt.
Over 4,000 miners lost jobs in the mines in 2015 due to the global economic meltdown, which affected operations of the mining sector in Zambia.
President Lungu stepped in to cushion their suffering by directing district administrations in various areas to find land to help the former miners to venture into farming in line with Government’s diversification programme READ MORE
